Health and Medical — Covid19
Here at Kid Kottage we strive to provide a safe and healthy environment for your child to learn and grow. All children that attend Kids Kottage must have an annual physical and be up-to-date with all immunizations (unless documented by a physician). A copy of both forms must be completed and signed by your child’s pediatrician and provided to Kids Kottage prior to enrollment in the program. In addition, to making sure the children are up-to-date with immunizations, we have antibacterial stations throughout the school to reduce the spread of germs and actively encourage hand washing throughout the day. Kids Kottage does not provide sick care but we do have a health professional available to assist in the every day routines of first aid and medication administration.
COVID19
During the past year with the COVID19 pandemic, we have upgraded our facility to meet the challenges for a safe environment. All classes are equipped with sinks for hand washing, all teachers are vaccinated, there is a new air filtration system to purify the air flow. Our Health Care Professional ensures that our school meets all the State Guidelines to keep our families safe.
Health and Medical
At Kid Kottage, we focus on creating a safe and healthy space where children can learn and grow. Every child must have an annual checkup and be current on all immunizations, unless a doctor provides documentation stating otherwise. Parents need to submit signed copies of these forms from their child's doctor before enrollment. To help prevent the spread of germs, we have antibacterial stations around the school and encourage children to wash their hands often. While we don’t offer sick care, a health professional is available to assist with basic first aid and medication routines.
Illness Guidance
Kids Kottage Learning Center is not authorized to care for children who are too sick to take part in normal activities. We kindly ask parents and guardians to keep sick children at home.
Symptoms to Watch out for Include:
1. Severe pain or discomfort
2. Acute diarrhea
3. Two or more episodes of vomiting within a period of 24 hours
4. Elevated oral temperature of 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit or over
5. Auxiliary temperature of 100.5 degrees Fahrenheit or over
Children can return to the center once they are no longer showing symptoms or a healthcare provider confirms they are not a health risk to themselves or others. If a child had a fever, they must be fever-free for at least 24 hours before coming back. For children who experienced vomiting or diarrhea twice or more, they need to be symptom-free for 24 hours as well.
COMMUNICABLE DISEASES
Kids Kottage follows all health and disease control rules from the American Academy of Pediatrics Manual. Any child showing signs of a contagious illness will not be allowed to participate. The child must wait until they are no longer contagious before returning. The timing for when an illness is no longer contagious follows guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics. A child can come back if a doctor’s note confirms they are no longer contagious. The note must say it’s safe for the child to join the program again. Kids Kottage has the right to keep a child from returning if the health professional thinks the child is too sick to be in the program.
Excludable Communicable Diseases
- 1. Respiratory Illnesses
- 2. Gastro-Intestinal Illnesses
- 3. Contact Illnesses
If your child catches a reportable disease at Kids Kottage, we will post information to alert you. We will notify all families if a child in the center has a contagious illness. This notice will mention potential exposure and list symptoms to watch for in your child.
